I learned my craft as a teenager many years ago in England, where woodworking was still being taught using traditional hand-tool skills. Having had a long career in furniture making and restoration I'm now in a position to explore my craft as an art form, finding unique ways to express my creative side.

The Keepsake Boxes sprang from a moment of inspiration that has continued evolving. I now have many ideas for small chests that are artistic expressions. I'm especially interested in combining the craftsmanship of box construction with the artistic freedom of carving.

Carving has been a hobby of mine ever since my kids gave me a beginner's carving set for Christmas a few years ago. I like telling stories by capturing a moment in time. As you can see, the Old West provides a lot of inspiration for me. But a recent trip back to England is now pointing me in another direction, with visits to castles and historical reenactments exciting me about the richness of my own cultural heritage.

I'm blessed to be able to do all of this.

I'm especially thankful to Cory and Farzi at Vino Veritas in Shoreview Minnesota where my work can be seen in person. Try the Riesling while you're there.
